Community Action Partnership and United Way are pleased to announce the first year of a Community Capacity Building Grant funded by the federal Compassion Capital Fund. The grant is designed to offer faith based (FBOs) organizations and community based organizations (CBOs) cash awards, technical assistance and training to support their ability to increase effectiveness, enhance provision of social services, expand organizational infrastructure, diversify funding sources and create collaborations to better serve those most in need within their communities.
Qualifying organizations include faith based and community based organizations in Sonoma County, California who currently serve (or plan to serve) at least one the following target populations:
* at-risk children
* at-risk youth-particularly those facing the risk of gang influence
* families in transition from welfare to work;
* seniors
* the homeless
* intensive rehabilitation populations (i.e. addicts, prisoners)
Attendance at one of the RFP workshops is required for organizations applying for the Community Capacity Building Grant (CCBG). Workshops will be held the week of March 3, 2008. Contact Rita Peterson to register for a workshop at 544-6911, ext 1091.
