In 2007, Neighbors in Health provided a day of free health care for uninsured and underinsured children in our community, along with assistance in finding health insurance and a medical home.
More than 520 children participated in Neighbors in Health, with more than 390 receiving medical care; including 591 immunizations, 338 well checks, 249 dental exams and lots of family fun and health education.
This year, United Way is once again collaborating with Kaiser Permanente in what promises to be an even bigger event. Neighbors in Health is being held from 8:00AM - 3:00PM on Sunday August 3 at Kaiser Permanente's Stein Medical Campus, MOB 4, 3925 Old Redwood Highway Santa Rosa. Activities and services this year will include: health insurance assistance, back-to-school and sports physicals, pediatric exams, childhood immunizations, vision and hearing screenings, furnishing of medications and dental screenings. Health and safety booths will also be available along with a variety of family-oriented programs and entertainment.
Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to help at Neighbors and Health. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday, August 3.
